DE Bay: Flounder!
On her third voyage the C.E.S. Pilgrims Progress was under pressure. We wanted to have a family fish fry in the evening. Capt. Williecrab and first mate Vickycrab launched from the Sun Dog Marinia in Newport NJ. The holding tanks quickly filled with nice size perch. Vickycrab battled a fat stiper but it was just a little short of legal size and had to be thrown back.
The Creek Exploration Ship headed for the bay. After the Capt landed a keeper flounder earlier, this big behmouth rounded out the day. This fluke was 23.5 inches long, Vickycrab netted it without hesitation on her first swipe - good thing. When dumped out of the net the hook just fell out of his mouth.
A good time and eats was had by all, as we celebrated the Mrs. Cynthiacrab's birthday. After she cooked up all the fish of course!
